Training and Experience
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and clinical member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, which means that I have training and experience that have specifically prepared me to work with children, parents, families and couples, as well as individual adults. I completed the Virginia Tech Marriage and Family Therapy Masters program which emphasizes how family members interact with each other and how adjusting these interactions can help children, siblings, parents, and partners to create greater connection and satisfaction in their relationships. Having healthy and supportive relationships helps individuals to thrive in all areas of life.
I have experience providing therapy to both English and Spanish speaking clients in office, home, and community based settings.

Clinical Interests
I am a process oriented and collaborative therapist. I am interested in attachment based therapies which include Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples, Emotionally Focused Family Therapy for families, as well as the Attachment, Self-Regulation, and Competency (ARC) model for families with children who are recovering from trauma. Attachment based therapies emphasize the importance of creating secure and responsive connections between family members, which creates a strong foundation for managing the stressors and challenges of family life. I am also interested in the Internal Families Systems model, which emphasizes the importance of creating connections and healing through compassion. I enjoy working with a wide variety of families with children both young and old, couples, and adult individuals.
Published Research
I completed a masters thesis which explored how spirituality and the ways in which partners work together to cope with stress can potentially protect Latino immigrant couples from engaging in psychological aggression.
